First Life… Then Change

Bob was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia. Bob grew up in a Christian home and at the age of 13 received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.

During his high school and college years, Bob struggled with the question of how to live the Christian life. His "roller-coaster" experience taught him that he could not do enough to earn God's love and affection.

After college Bob attended a Bible study in Atlanta where he learned the life-changing news that it is not what we do for Christ, but what Christ has done for us. Finally Bob realized that he was totally loved and accepted in Christ. Through an experience of seeing an elderly gentleman receive Christ before he died, Bob's heart was opened to the possibility of full-time Christian work.

Shortly after being transferred to Dallas in 1982, Bob was introduced to the ministry of Discipleship Counseling Services. What impressed Bob most about the Ministry was its focus on the person and work of Jesus Christ; its ministry to the who-so-ever wills, rather than a specific segment of the population; and Bob George's ability to communicate the truth in a way that was both practical and easy to apply to everyday life.

It wasn't long before Bob resigned his job to join the staff of Discipleship Counseling Services. Through the years Bob has held various responsibilities such as Director of Publications and Director of Development. Bob serves as CEO and President, overseeing the activities of the Ministry, and is the host of the People to People broadcast.

"Through this Ministry, I have learned that the Gospel is more than a message," Bob says. "It is a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ based on His love and truth. What a privilege to serve in this Ministry and help others to know and experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ."

Bob and his wife, Jeanna, live in Denton, Texas, with their children, Caitlin, Coleman, and McKenzie Marie.
